Wall preparation for pasting
The wall damages could be determined under following indications:
- Exfoliating wallpaper.
- Plaster exfoliating because of salt crystallization or water freezing.
- Bad inside walls laying.
- Mould on walls.
- Oil-paint and plaster exfoliating.
After determination of moisture reasons they are to be eliminated before walls preparation for pasting. Old exfoliating wallpaper and paste are to be completely removed. A plenty of wallpaper types are produced with a special bottom layer today (it is so called exfoliating wallpaper) which is to be taken away very easy from the wall. The bottom layer remains on the wall and new wallpaper is to be pasted on it. Every wallpaper type must be taken away from bottom to top.

Wallpaper pieces are to be cut with scissors or a special wallpaper knife.
If the wall surfaces are uneven, the first wallpaper piece is to be cut in that way that a small part will get onto the ceiling. Before cutting next pieces the first piece shall be pasted on as it is described above. It will let you see how much spare wallpaper shall be kept that all next wallpaper pieces concur. Because only few walls, windows und doors have really correct form you need always do vertical lines using a plumb-line.
You shall use the type of paste recommended by producer for the given type of wallpaper, for example, for vinyl wallpapers a paste with fungicide. The type of paste is to be chosen depending on wallpaper weight and strength. To get a necessary paste proportion you shall follow the directions attached to the paste. The higher the wallpaper type the denser paste shall be.
The wallpaper pieces are put on a working table right side down. The paste is to be put onto wallpaper with a special brush evenly from the middle to edges. All wallpaper piece surface shall be covered with paste. Then wallpaper pieces are to be fold up from the bottom to the middle and from the top to the middle the pasted surface inside or in pleats for best soaking. Leave wallpaper for few minutes for soaking. The thicker and heavier wallpaper is the more time it need for soaking. All wallpaper pieces shall be soaking equally.
After soaking the first wallpaper piece is put onto the wall along the vertical mark, pressed tightly to the wall and smoothed out from the top with a soft brush to the middle to avoid bubbles and folders. Please use only a soft brush for smoothing out. After it cut the rest of wallpaper on top and bottom. Please remove the rest of paste with a moist rag immediately. The next wallpaper piece shall be pasted on in joint according to rapport.
If there are some folders during pasting on it means that there is a vacuum under wallpaper. In such case remove wallpaper carefully and paste it on once again. If again wrong - it means the wallpaper piece is soaked not enough. Small folders disappear after drying out. By pasting on wallpaper please avoid the heat and draughts. Wallpaper dry out better by room temperature.
Ceiling pasting
Wallpaper is to be pasted on a ceiling lengthwise and before wall pasting. It is advised to work with an assistant person who will hold the wallpaper piece during pasting. First you shall make a mark on the ceiling on the same distance from the wall as wallpaper width. Then the wallpaper piece is to be pasted as usual. Then the wallpaper is to be pasted onto the ceiling. Please make 50 mm reserve on ends of wallpaper piece and 12 mm in a place of contact with the corner wall. Pasting direction is to be corrected in accordance with marks on the ceiling. When all wallpaper piece is fully pasted on please check folders and bulbs on it. Vinyl wallpaper is to be pasted on without reserve on walls. Wallpaper is to be smoothed with a soft brush.
